Chamber of Commerce 2012 Annual Banquet-In January we will gather at the Forrest Park Community Center to celebrate the successes of the 2012 year. Awards are given and accomplishments are celebrated. This is an evening of great food and entertainment.
Independence Day Celebration---This event is held in our beautiful, spacious Forrest Park area for local and out of town vendors to set up their booths of delicious food or beautiful crafts. Miss Firecracker Pageant, pony and train rides, as well as jump castles are usually available for the children to enjoy. Both the old and young come to enjoy the familiar songs being performed or played. Your assistance with this event will ensure that we all have a safe and wonderful Fourth of July.
Area Breakfast ---This annual event is our way of saying “Thank You” to the people of this community for shopping in Lamesa! A yummy breakfast buffet along with great door prizes and entertainment will top off this great event. Bragging rights and a Traveling Trophy goes to the community that has the best attendance—that’s always fun!!!
Trunk or Treat --Lamesa’s Trunk or Treat is a community-wide event enjoyed by the whole family that provides a safe and fun place for children to come dressed in their costumes to receive some treats and possibly a few tricks!! There is a costume contest for all ages, pumpkin decorating contest and even best trunk decorations are awarded to individuals at the event. Food vendors will be set up. Be looking for a few new additions to this event this year.
O.W. Follis Basketball Tournament---Hey sports fans---The Chamber hosts a first class varsity boy’s basketball tournament in December. This 3 day event attracts numerous teams from across the area that bring with them parents, grandparents and siblings that eat, shop and stay in Lamesa.
Girls Basketball Tournament---The Chamber also hosts a Middle School girl’s basketball tournament that is top notch. This is a very organized, well respected tournament. Again many teams from all over this area come with hopes of taking home the 1st place award.
